PREVIEW
River Tours: The Avon
Writer and Associate Director Craig Stephens
This is the latest touring theatre production from Birmingham based theatre company Stan's Cafe with great rivers of the world as a theme.
What has been devised is documentary style, storytelling experience, where a 3m long textile map of Warwickshire's River Avon (also known as Shakespeare's Avon) will be unveiled in various West Midland's community and theatre spaces along the Avon including The RSC in Stratford and two further venues in Birmingham this August.
This pictorial map made from textiles (sometimes described as a tapestry) will act as a visual aid and a focus point for an interesting and witty 55 minute long performance piece, professional Kathryn Hanke being one of the actors performing.
The beautiful tapestry created by Studio MEAD by artists Ellie Carr-Smith and Molly Acacia Hughes at Brook Arts Hub.
